Depending on where you’re located, summer in the USA can mean blistering heat and long days of the purest sunshine. Whilst many enjoy this more than grey, wet or cold weather, its still hard to stay chilled out and comfortable sometimes. What you can do though is take a trip to somewhere you can find cool waters and a chilled out atmosphere that will make you feel fresh again. Below we look at three such places in more detail.
Newport Beach, California. Featured in the recent hit TV show The OC, Newport has fast become a favourite hangout of Hollywood stars and the rich who have time to burn. USA holidays in Newport have been steady increasing over the last decade or so, which has been a result of both the increased profile of the place and the fact they you can now find some of the top restaurants and shopping in the whole of Western America.
Key West, Florida. This great place can be found in the Florida Keys and is famed from its vibrant atmosphere, as well as its world-class water sports. You can take a boat out, do a bit or snorkelling and fishing, and achieve a level of calm most people can only dream of. If you want a bit more entertainment then head into town, where youll find street performers, artists and more bars serving refreshing drinks than almost any other American holidays resort.
Schlitterbahn Water Park, Texas. If its hot and youve got kids, then chances are they wont be satisfied hanging around drinking pina coladas all day, or maybe they will. They are more likely though to want to spend their time splashing around and zipping down water slides, which makes Schlitterbahn Waterpark the perfect place to visit. This water park hosts an impressive 65-acres worth of water fun and constantly updates its attractions, which explains why it wins numerous awards each year.
If you still cant cool down enough however and youre not enjoying summer, you can always go on Canada holidays instead, where the climate is a little fresher.
